Uncovered Productions got its start when Doug Lloyd and Georgia Menides began a segment for a public access television show, Video Jam, called Uncovered. The team expanded the show to include live concert videos, coverage of music festivals, and unusual interviews. Uncovered has produced shows with musicians including The Doobie Brothers, OK Go, Guster, TC Constanten of The Grateful Dead, Superdrag, and Ladytron.
Believing strongly in the priciples of public access, they wanted their show to air across the country without having to give up the creative freedom that can derive from television without advertizing. They decided to bypass all network syndication and instead began a grassroots effort to distribute the show solely on public access stations. By the end of its run, Uncovered was aired nationally, and reached over two million households a week from coast to coast. Uncovered music programs have also received screenings in music clubs and art galleries in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Ater a year of producing music videos, the team made the move to independent flm production. Uncovered Productions then produced two short films, Lame and The Casket, which screened at festivals in New England and New York. In 2005 Lloyd and Menides began development for the company's first feature film, Still Green.
